SILLY RABBIT

12" X 12"
Oil
Rabbit Ears Motel downtown Steamboat Springs
This was so much fun I've never done this view of the
Rabbit Ears Motel sign. Something a bit different
It's good to shake it up.
Thanks a bunch MB

HEY THERE

3" X 3"
oil
Here's the deal I was using my iPad for all my blog stuff which was super
convenient. But it appears that blogspot is no longer working which means
I have to import the photos to my lap top and work from there.
I guess I'm lucky it lasted as long as it did because apparently
some folks have been without blogspot iPad support for over a year.
I'm looking for another blog that will work with my
iPad until then I'll post when the mood strikes and I feel like
doing all the extra stuff to get the work out there.
I've gotten kind of lazy sorry.
That's it for now.
thanks for waiting and i hope for a solution soon.

HONEY DIPPER

6 X 8
Oil
OK - where to start?
Failure after failure after more failure
That pretty much sums it up.
I should show the failures but it's a bit too embarrassing
You really wonder where that comes from - extremely bad painting!!!????#%*++=
Anyway I felt "Honey Dripper" was worthy of a post.
I'd like to say I'm back but my confidence is a bit shaken
Gotta find that groove and paint on.
Time will tell - thanks a bunch MB

THE BIG KISS

6 X 9
Oil
I love this image. Not sure if I got it right gotta start somewhere.

Back country skiing - by MB It finally snowed and I got some runs in on my secret stash near my
House. It takes me 35 to 40 minutes of climbing on my fish scale skis to get to
my secret skiing spot.
Then I ski down and climb up on my skis for another run and another and another
And so on and so on - you'd think I'd learn.
It was a glorious day!
Here's the view from the top of my private bunny hill.  It's not a black run but it's a fun run, and that's what counts. Gotta have a bit of fun to smooth out the edges. Thanks a bunch MB

WHO? ME??!!!

6 X 12
Oil
It's been awhile since my last post and painting.
I haven't painted for 2 months due to some family stuff
it's all good but it required my undivided attention and energy.
I think I'm through with what needs to be done but now I have to start over
with my painting - which of course is scary and overwhelming.
Thanks a bunch for waiting - hope all is well on your end, MB

ONCE IN A BLUE MOON

Or
THE FOX JUMPED OVER THE MOON
8" X 8"
OIL
Ever since the solar eclipse & experiencing TOTALITY on
8.21.17
I can't get the stars, the feeling of totality, the experience out of my head.
I've had the Once in a Blue Moon theme in my head for months.
I've wanted to produce some paintings which portray pure joy and wonder
with the stars in mind along with a bit of quiet reflection.
Here's an odd twist to this journey that occurred recently.
I wanted a total escape, a humorous look at the world
what better way to achieve that feeling?
Guardian's of the Galaxy II
I love that movie for me it's a classic.
In the old days we used to ski with a
Sony Walkman around our waist with our favorite cassette tape
blasting tunes into our headset. How's that for a flash from the past?
Guardian's of the Galaxy II is full of aha! moments - great music
a fun ride through time. If you've never seen it give it a go.
Anyway, the next morning I painted "ONCE IN A BLUE MOON".
I was smiling the entire time - painting that morning was joyful
from start to finish.
Little did I know that January 2018 would bring us so many
celestial gifts. From the Super Moon or Wolf Moon on January 1st
to the big bang -  to the first Super Blue Blood Moon of 152 years on January 31st.
Not only that but there's also a TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE happening as well.

Don't miss out - if it's not happening in your area there's quite a bit of excitement
on the internet - I'm sure you can find it and experience it as it happens.
Have a great Blue Moon
Thanks MB

THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS

8 X 8
Oil
I should've taken a photo of this paintings first version - it was not working.
The colors were blah and muddy, it was a mess. In fact I was too embarrassed
to record it in any way!  I set it aside not knowing if it would ever
be finished. One day last week I started over, I like this version much better.
You'll just have to trust me one this one. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for taking a look - MB

LOOKING AT YOU!

8" X 8"
Oil
I've been painting but not posting. Repainted an awful image today
I think it could be a winner. Gotta let the dust settle.
Happy New Year hoping for some positive change in 2018.
