"THE ELECTRIC COMPANY - PLEIN AIR"

The old electric building in Steamboat springs, CO.
6" X 6"
Oil on panel
This painting on display now at the Steamboat Art Museum
until October 18th.
That's it thanks for following.

"LYON DRUG - PLEIN AIR"

LYON DRUG
6" X 6"
Showing at the Steamboat Art Museum
until October 18.

"SPACE STATION - PLEIN AIR"

Nocturne Space Station
I attended a Plein Air paint out for the week here in
Steamboat. The Steamboat Art Museum sponsored the event
so I wanted to give it a go. The premise is to create the painting
outdoors and finish it in place(fine and dandy if that's your thing).
I found out it's just not my thing.
I'd rather paint in my studio and go outside to ride my bike.
I am so grateful for this opportunity because I can't tell you
how many times I've thought about signing up for a Plein Air
workshop. This experience saved me 1000 bucks.
Dodged that bullet.
These paintings are on display at the Steamboat Art Museum until
October 18th. They are 6" x 6" oil on panel.
Thanks.

"REVIEW"

It seems like it took forever to get here. It's been
a struggle for sure. I've gotta get the rhythm back on
track. I just can't get it all out fast enough these days.
We're splitting fire wood, I have to ride my bike and
then there's the house to clean. I'm not complaining
just tell me - Where does the time go?
Thanks a bunch

"I'VE GOT YOUR BACK"

"I've Got Your Back"
34"h X 18"w
Oil on Panel - Framed
1200.00
I'm so glad it's finally finished and I like it!
Thanks for hanging in there. These larger
pieces mean fewer posts during the process.
I should take process shots but I was ruining
my camera - it's covered in paint and well
it's too expensive to replace.
Thanks for waiting.

"DETAILS - I'VE GOT YOUR BACK"

It's coming along nicely from my weird perspective.

"DETAIL - I'VE GOT YOUR BACK"

Detail shots - "I've Got Your Back"

"I'VE GOT YOUR BACK"

I abandoned this underpainting last year. To tell
the truth I didn't know how to finish it - I was at a loss.
I loved the title - that's how a lot of my work gets started.
Last week I put it up on my wall and thought
I was ready to finish it! Well that was a rash decision.
I did finish it but not in a timely manner.
34"h X 18"w
Oil on board

"GROUNDED"

Here's a quick reference photo of my painting
"GROUNDED"
I shot these at Creekside Cafe so you could get an idea of the
finished piece. With the frame it's 34"h X 46"w
1800.00
I know some of you liked the yellow background but as you can
see he appears to be grounded by the rain. At least that's what came
to mind when I saw Mark and Marilyn's photo of this magnificent
bird. I've gotten a lot of compliments on this painting which is always
great for me. Also, I have been painting you'll see.
Thanks for following.

"#35"

TIMMY
This is a present for Kelly - she's the owner
of Creekside Cafe where I have all of my work hanging.
Kelly and Jason were voted Philanthropists of the Year
by the
Yampa Valley Community Foundation for 2014.
Kelly and Jason are such great people in our small town.
We're so lucky to have them as community members.
If you get a chance stop in for some breakfast or lunch you'll
be glad you did!
Thanks for following.
I'm working on another large piece or I should say finishing
something that got put aside last year.
ALSO - COMING SOON
MB'S VERMEER
(remember Tim's Vermeer?)

"CHAMPION" I FORGOT TO POST THIS ONE!

This was a demo I did at the gallery friday night.
We were open for the wine stroll turned out
everyone was more interested in getting their
wine glass filled rather than look at any
paintings. Oh well it's a good excuse to paint.
Thanks.

"LULU'S APOLOGY"

"SOPHIE"
Lulu is my little(bitch - no pun intended) and we were all vacationing
in Minnesota. Sophie(is a bitch - too)anyway Sophie and Lulu
were bitchy together and Sophie ended up with a bloody lip.
In short this is Lulu's apology for being such a bitch(forgive the
language but it's the only way to describe this event).
I will send this painting to Sophie's family as a peace
offering for the traumatic event.
Thanks for following - I am painting.
I have so many ideas floating in my head it's hard to focus.
Have a wonderful weekend!

"SPACE STATION II"

6" X 8"
I was stuck today so I painted another Space Station.
A friend e-mailed me to see if I had a small painting of the
space Station but the paintings at Creekside are a bit larger.
She was thinking it would be a fun wedding present
for a young couple who moved away and miss Steamboat Springs.
If she wants this it's hers if not I'll get it priced and put it on my
Daily Painter site. I tried to make this painting a little more
edgy and young but that just may not be my thing.

"THANK YOU FOR COMING TO THE OPENING"

DETAIL - "GROUNDED"
I really appreciate the fun party we had on friday night.
Creekside was packed and Kelly put on quite the spread
wine flowed all night long. I met a lot of new people and
some seemed quite interested in the new work.
I can't tell you how great it feels to get some positive comments.
I didn't realize until I got to the event how exhausted I really was
and how busy I had been. It paid off with a great show.
The show will be up until November 5TH
If you didn't get a chance to stop by you can take
a look anytime before November 5th.
Creekside is open until 2 or 2:30 every day.

"ART OPENING TONIGHT"

"DETAIL - GROUNDED"
This 24" X 36" oil painting will be on display
TONIGHT at CREEKSIDE CAFE
in Steamboat Springs, CO
5pm till 8pm
I have some really great neighbors who are excellent
photographers. Every year they print a wonderful calendar
of wildlife images and they share them with me.
Mark and Marilyn McCaulley let me use this image
and I was so excited with this painting
I didn't even get a photo of the finished painting
before I threw it in a frame(wet) for the
show tonight. It looks great up on the wall.
Thanks Mark and Marilyn for being so generous.
If you're in town stop by I'd love to see you!
THANKS
