I bought a bag of clementine's and stuck a mandarin orange with the leaves in the middle. I love these little complimentary color paintings. Not sure if I used this one or not forgive me. Van Gogh was into the complimentary color scheme - if you think about his paintings you can come up with many complimentary color schemes. "A good understanding of color is worth more than seventy different shades of paint." Van Gogh studied color intensely - I am no Van Gogh but have found through my daily painting practice I am finally grasping a bit of the philosophy of color.
