"PROCESS - GEORGE"

You can see my original painting in the left hand corner.
The original was 8" X 8" and the new painting is 36" X 36".
This is from a photo that my neighbor's Mark & Marilyn took a while ago.
They are both excellent photographers and carry their cameras where ever they travel.
They are extremely generous with their magnificent photographic collection.
I couldn't paint George Town - George without their help and inspiration.
Marilyn and Mark always seem to be in the right place
at the right time for these one of a kind shots.
It takes a village!
Thanks - MB

"GEORGE"

Here he is finished. The background is a muted green like photo below.
Didn't get that quite right for this shot.

Here's my new hanging system in my studio. I wanted to have my
paintings out instead of packed away under my bench. You can
see some scale in this photo.
Small squares are 6"X6" George is 36" X 36".
Thanks for taking a look.

"BUDDY"

Buddy doesn't like to have his picture taken - I had to wait 3 months
for a good shot of Buddy and this is the happy result!

"HANDSOME"

This is my Georgi Porgi Corgi!
He's a happy boy.

"FIRST TRACKS"

I usually don't venture much into landscape but loved this idea so I gave it a go. For those of you
who don't ski these are my first tracks on this run. It's what we call skiing untracked powder.
This run is a 30 minute climb from my house(that means I climb up the hill on my skis for 30
minutes - ski down and then climb up to the top - that's a shorter climb more like 15 minutes
then I ski it again - climb up again and ski again) That's how I stay in shape in the winter
and that's why I'm always praying for snow - because I love to ski!
Thanks for taking a look. MB

"BIRD ON A WIRE"

Chickadee II
Thanks a bunch, MB!

"REVIEW"

Here it is. Some of these are from the Plein Air event at
Steamboat Art Museum. The paintings were framed wet - the corners got damaged
I had to repaint the edges so I could frame them in floater frames.
If I didn't mention this, I gessoed my display boards black. The black is a
much better background than the original grey display boards I've had for years.
Only took me 3 years to figure that one out!!! go figure
Thanks for taking a look. MB

"DID YOU SAY BALL OR BUNNY?"

Sunshine's Aunt sent me this photo. It was a pixelated photo
without much definition but I've always wanted to paint a
dog with a mouthful of toys. I gave it my best shot!
This is going to be a crazy week for me.
I'm not sure if there will be any posts - it's not for the lack of painting.
Thanks for hanging in there and being patient.
Your buddy MB

"SUNSHINE"

Here's what Sunshine's family has to say about her
"Sunshine is the happiest and most loving dog! We adopted her from the humane society in April and we’ve never had a dull day since.  We believe she is half lab, half golden retriever. She loves her toys, to swim, and to give kisses (she even tries to give kisses with toys in her mouth). Sunshine is always smiling! She also enjoys running and playing with other pups. When she’s excited her WHOLE BODY wiggles!! She’ll run in between your legs so she can get scratches. We love Sunshine so much!"

This may be the last post till Monday(I love this happy face)
Have a wonderful weekend!

"SCHRAGE'S PUMPKIN TRUCK"

"1937 DIAMOND T"
Rod Schrage owns this truck and parks it in front of his business
for various holidays. I talked to him about the truck and found out that
this truck has been in Routt County since it was new. It was originally
a forest service truck. It has had three owners all locals since its
days in the forests of Routt County. Quite a lot of history behind this vehicle
and for Rod some great memories.
Thanks for looking.

"BLUE AND GREEN"

I have not been taking very good photos of late. I apologize.
I've been preoccupied with matters kind of out of my control.
It's not bad stuff just kind of a lot of stuff that requires
my undivided attention. I have been invited (for free)
to set up a booth in the library saturday for Art In the Park.
I will post today and tomorrow but I can't promise much else till
next week. I started a large painting and it waits as well.
It's brings to mind - when it rains it pours.
Thanks for your patience.
I hope to get back on schedule soon.

"MONTH IN REVIEW"

I like to look at my paintings as a group.
It's not like there's a theme
oh well - that's what keeps it interesting for ME.
This gives you some idea of what I see when I
walk into my studio in the morning.
I wish you all the best weekend!
I'm working on something a little larger will try to have a
post for monday.
TTFN!
Thanks for following I appreciate all the emails and observations.

"HAYDEN GRANARY"

The Hayden Granary is still functioning as it did in the early
days. "There's wisdom in the buildings, and it brings that out of
people when they're here," Tammie Delaney said about the
nearly 100-year-old structures. The Delaney's offer up the
example of the men who used to gather at the building for
coffee in the mornings back when it still was a working
granary as evidence of its history as a gathering place
and hub for Hayden.(from Steamboat Pilot Today Article)

"HAYDEN BARN"

I have to find the name of this barn. Nancy if you know send
me an email. It's on the right side of hwy 40 before you get into
Hayden.  This one is 6" X 6". I may make this larger for the
gallery for the summer. We'll see.
