"GETTING READY TO COMPETE"

This was at the Routt County Fair. I went to the Draft horse barrel racing competition - I think it's called the Chuck Fulton Draft Horse Competition - I have a ton of photos of this event and want to try and show what it was like to be there. The ranchers do it for the love of the horses and to see their friends and neighbors. The animals were so beautiful and you could tell there was a lot of love for these majestic, hard working horses. More coming later. Thanks for following.

  1. I am intrigued with your cowboy's folds/shadows in his clothing. I find it helpful to enlarge these and study your brush strokes. Your large (in my mind) brush strokes take up a lot of my attention. :) It impresses me that one or two strokes nails a fold/shadow.
